"crossroads of a nation," The Japanese translation is "国の中心”
But ”nation" is a Japanese translation "
that shone as a beacon of freedom and opportunity to so many who had come before.
"shone" is mean "輝いた”
but my book japanese translation"投げかけていた”
I think, japanese people consider the english senttense difficult to much.
Thanks. "投げかけていた” would be the definition for "thrown", wouldn't it?
