I went to go hospital everyday, I was busy.

rig out the barn for the storm. 嵐に備えて納屋を補強する。

sigh up 加わる ~と契約する
I sighed up for swimming lessons. 私は水泳のレッスンを受ける契約をした。

raise 上げる 育てる
Laise a large family. たくさんの子どもを育てる。

They would give an african name, Barack,or "blessed" believing that in a tolerant America your name is no barrier to success.

"crossroads of a nation," The  Japanese translation is "国の中心”
But ”nation" is a Japanese translation  "国家”

国の中心という文章をほかに作るならば、ここで
”country" と使うこともできるのでしょうか?


that shone as a beacon of freedom and opportunity to so many who had come before.

"shone" is mean "輝いた”
but my book japanese translation"投げかけていた”

I think, japanese people consider the english senttense difficult to much.
↑すみません、文章がめちゃくちゃで。。。
いいたかったのは日本人は英語の訳を考えるときに難しく
考えすぎかな?と思いました。
